Contact lenses
An exam, a fitting and a trial pair
Contact lenses are fitted to your eyes, so they start with an exam and a fitting with one of our optometrists.
- 01
Step 1: A contact lens exam
Your doctor checks your eyes and your prescription, and asks how you want to wear lenses.
- 02
Step 2: A fitting
Your doctor measures your eyes and chooses a lens that suits them. Fitting is a separate step from the eye exam.
- 03
Step 3: A trial pair
You wear a pair for a short time, and your doctor checks how they sit and how they feel.
- 04
Step 4: Teaching and follow-up
We show you how to put in, take out and care for your lenses, and we book a follow-up visit as your doctor advises.
Your prescription
Your prescription is yours
Your prescription is yours. We give you a copy once your exam and fitting are done, whether or not you buy lenses from us, and you can fill it anywhere.
We take the time to understand what you need before we suggest anything.
Every visit ends with a clear plan, written down, so nothing is left to memory.

- Sudden vision loss, flashes of light, a curtain over your vision, a chemical splash or an eye injury needs care now. Call our office right away or go to an emergency room. If you can't reach us, call 911.
Questions about contact lenses
Can I get contact lenses without an exam?
No. Contact lenses are fitted to your eyes, so they need an exam and a fitting first. Your doctor explains what each visit covers.
What if I wear lenses and my eyes are red or sore?
Take your lenses out and call us. If you have sudden vision loss, flashes of light or an eye injury, go to an emergency room or call 911.
How is a fitting billed?
A fitting is billed separately from the eye exam, and we explain what your plan covers before you start. See how fees work for details.
